All AC Parts and What They Do

Low Pressure Switch:

The low pressure switch is an automatic reset switch that resets itself when the low pressure side of the refrigeration systems returns to normal or above the setting. When the system operates at a lower than normal pressure the system can freeze up. Freezing can begin at the evaporator coil and work its way back into the compressor via the suction line.

What can cause the low pressure switch to trip;

Low refrigerant charge

Blower motor failure in the air handler

Plugged evaporator coils or a blockage of airflow

Failure of a refrigeration component in the refrigeration system

Saver Switch:

Power saver switch is an emote controlled switch on the outside near the central air conditioner.
